Brilliant album,
November 13, 2007
A really, really good album from a band that's been around awhile. When we were punkers back in the early nineties, I had a few friends who were Green Day fans... it wasn't until Dookie, and "Longview," that I really started listening to them... even then, it was always with some embarassment and hesitation, as they weren't considered quite "punk" enough due to their commercial success. But I let myself start loving their music when I first heard American Idiot. Except for the title song, they're almost all gems... really brilliant, and courageous, odes to life and living, and having a thoughtful, if troubled, existence... I'm proud to say I'm a Green Day fan.
