Retail Music Store : Dignity, Hilary Duff

Biggest surprise of the year!,

April 5, 2007
This review is from: Dignity (Audio CD)
I have always been a detractor when it comes to Hilary Duff. She has a very limited voice that wasn't up to the task on her pop/rock songs. And her music just seemed like bland product. But to my surprise, a few songs on Dignity are quite good. Especially in the middle, where she does Gwen Stefani-type songs better than Gwen: "Never Stop," "Dreamer," and "Outside Of You." At times, the songs seem like rejects from Madonna's Confessions On A Dance Floor, and blandness still creeps in on "Between You And Me." But the dance/pop sound covers the limitations in her voice better, and her lyrics do get in some good quips. This album is at least worth a few individual song purchases.
